Working backwards, we see the errors and violations that lead to an accident when a worker falls from height from an insufficiently protected scaffold. The film explores how the key characters' unsafe behaviour is , to a large extent, influenced by the culture on this site and by a perception that the demands of programme and time supersede the importance of safety. Through the motif of a lottery scratch card, we are able to pause the film and rewind to a parallel Universe where effective leadership and clear messaging on safety from a senior manager has a positive impact down the hierarchical chain leading to a positive, alternative ending.

Aims and objectives

To engage workers in the message that effective safety leadership is everyone's responsibility; to engage leaders in the need for consistency and an awareness of the impact of their behaviour (conscious [&] unconscious) when ensuring buy -in from their people to the safety message.
